Services & compatibility

What is FEMTO unlock?

A specialised service that enables supported engine control units to be programmed using compatible professional diagnostic and calibration tools. The service is intended for authorised automotive software development, ECU calibration and professional vehicle servicing. Compatibility depends on the ECU hardware and software version.

What is ECU cloning used for?

A technical service for transferring compatible software data and configuration from an existing engine control unit to a replacement unit. Typically used during ECU repair or replacement to restore the vehicle's original electronic configuration. The service is subject to compatibility checks and verification of customer authorisation.

What is remote engine start configuration?

A software configuration service for enabling or configuring remote engine start functionality on supported vehicles. The service is intended for compatible vehicle applications and is subject to equipment, software, safety and regional requirements.

What is the difference between FEMTO unlock and bench unlock?

FEMTO lists both MDG1 ECU unlock and Full Bench + OBD unlock as separate services. The latter is described as permanent bench unlock with OBD flashing. Ask the team which service matches your exact ECU and flashing setup; the names alone do not establish that the services are interchangeable.

Which ECUs and vehicles are supported?

The catalogue includes MDG1, S68, M series, Supra and Rolls-Royce services, as well as upgrade, remote engine start and cloning services. These are service categories, not a complete compatibility list. Send your vehicle, ECU and software details so FEMTO can check the exact application before shipment.

Do I need to send my ECU, or can the service be done remotely?

Confirm the delivery requirements for your selected service with FEMTO before ordering. The shipping procedure applies where a physical ECU shipment is agreed. The name “remote engine start” describes a vehicle function and does not confirm that the work can be carried out without sending equipment.

How long does the service take?

Processing time is confirmed for your exact order. Ask the team to agree the completion time before accepting the order. Carrier transit time is separate from service processing time.

Is the unlock permanent, and can I flash by OBD afterwards?

This depends on the selected service and application. Full Bench + OBD unlock is described as a permanent bench unlock with OBD flashing; confirm the supported ECU, software and flashing setup before ordering. A manufacturer or dealer update may alter a configuration or activation.

Prices & payment

How much does the service cost, and how does VAT work?

The advertised ECU service charge is €250 excluding VAT, plus shipping. Where Finnish VAT at 25.5% applies, the service charge is €313.75 including VAT. Applicable tax treatment depends on the customer and transaction. The itemised quote confirms the service scope, number of units, applicable VAT, shipping and total before you accept the order.

How do I pay for my order?

ECU service orders in orders.femtoevo.com are paid by bank transfer against the invoice provided in your order. Download it at “payment waiting” and follow its payment instructions carefully. Digital activation purchases in portal.femtoevo.com use a separate Stripe card-payment flow.

Shipping & customs

How do I ship my ECU, and why DHL Express?

Use DHL Express for inbound and return shipment, with delivery directly to the office address in your order instructions. You arrange and pay for inbound delivery. DHL Express shipments receive priority, and FEMTO has communication channels with DHL to help with issues. Other carriers can cause delays and their enquiries must be handled by the sender. DHL Parcel Connect is not DHL Express.

What customs value should I declare?

The current shipping instructions specify a declared value of EUR 40. Customs documentation must accurately reflect the actual unit and service. Confirm the appropriate documents and any temporary-export or return arrangements with the carrier and your order instructions before shipping. Customs fees may apply depending on your country.

What happens if a shipment is damaged or lost?

If an issue arises with a shipment, a claim will be opened with DHL. Reimbursement will be issued upon receipt of an invoice from your dealer covering the purchase and installation of a replacement ECU, as stated in the shipping instructions. Contact FEMTO about the issue and the documents needed.

Countries & availability

Which countries and regions do you not serve?

Under FEMTO’s sales policy, we do not accept orders or provide services to customers located in Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea (DPRK), Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, Libya, Myanmar or Zimbabwe. The same restriction applies to Crimea, Sevastopol, and the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Other orders are also assessed against applicable sanctions, export, payment and shipping requirements.
